Getting Relief From Heel Pain

One of the reasons for heel pain is Plantar fasciitis. As a matter of fact it is it is the most common reason for getting heel pain. There is swelling in the broad band of the heel tissue which leads to this condition. The tissue is very significant as it begins from heel all the way along the sole of the foot to the toes.

Plantar fascia also assists in the formation of the arch of the foot. It is like a rubber band which connects the ball of the foot to the heel and also helps a person to place the foot well on the floor. People for whom the band is long in length have a low arch and there is a high arch for individuals whose foot has a short band formed. In most cases people who have long band tend to be flat footed. A layer of fat surrounding the heel area keeps the Plantar fascia shock proof. When extra calcium is deposited around the plantar fascia region, it is known as heel spur or Plantar fasciitis.

Putting tape for the Plantar Fascia

Plantar fascia can be wrapped with the help of an athlete tape. This will be very helpful in decreasing heel pain as it stops the fascia from stretching too much which results in less tension in the heel. In most cases you need to be stretched and put from the region of the heel to the toe of the sole of the feet. Tension is created on the exterior by the athletic tape and there is time for the Fascia to repair. If one wants good results it is important that the tape is put tightly and it is in constant touch with the skin. This makes it imperative to apply new tape everyday and it will also maintain the good health of the skin with reduction of heel pain.

Shoes used with Inserts

When you use inserts in the shoe it helps to decrease the stress level on the plantar fasciitis which in turn helps a person to manage heel pain well. Here it is very important to keep the foot correctly aligned and should also stay firm in the shoe. The heel will remain stable thus reducing the chances of heel pain. Poron foam is used to make the heel inserts, which help in the shock absorption as the foot takes each step. The heel pain also gets reduced due to this action.

Care while Exercising

In order to keep away from aggravating the inflammation of the Fascia region it is important that one takes more rest and keeps away from strenuous activity to reduce the chances of heel pain.
